"Alphabet of the Internet": retirees are taught computer literacy. "ABC of the Internet" - teaching the older generation of computer literacy I am to help a novice Internet user

The Azbuka Internet site is an interesting joint project of the Pension Fund of Russia and Rostelecom, which is intended for independent development global network users of the older generation, as well as for all curious people.

In order to find this site on the Web, you can

  • type in the browser a request without quotation marks "alphabet of the Internet", and then click on the first line in the search results for your request;
  • or right now follow the link:

The main value of the project is the electronic textbook "ABC of the Internet", you can download it free of charge on the official website ABC Internet ru. The tutorial is made in pdf, that is, the file with the tutorial is named azbukainterneta.pdf (the name may differ from the one given, depending on which link you clicked on).

The tutorial can be downloaded for free in two different options:

  • directly on the official website "Alphabet of the Internet" or
  • by the link from Yandex.Disk.

Consider these two options below. Choose one option for yourself and go through it to the end. If something doesn't work out, you can try another option.

Before downloading the "ABC of the Internet", I advise you to read (or at least look through) the article to the end in order to understand whether you need this entire textbook, or you need separate chapters, or you don’t need it.

What does it take to complete the entire tutorial?

Here is a quote from the textbook "The ABC of the Internet" on this issue:

Equipment and software required by the reader to work with the tutorial:

  • Desktop stationary computer or laptop equipped with a webcam, microphone, sound system
  • OS Win XP / Vista / 7 - operating system.
  • Microsoft Office 2010 and higher or OpenOffice - programs for working on a computer.
  • Yandex Browser is a program for browsing the Internet.
  • Dr.Web (demo version) - protection against viruses.
  • Adobe Flash Player is a video player.
  • Skype is a program for video calls and messages.

If you don't need Skype, you won't need a webcam and microphone.

For inexperienced users, I recommend downloading at least one chapter as an exercise on computer literacy, or rather, in order to be able to download, find on your computer and open a pdf file (and this requires practice). Therefore, I give below a detailed explanation of how to do this.

We go to the site as described above, and see what is useful there:

Rice. 1 Main page on the website "Alphabet of the Internet"

Option 1: How to download the textbook "Internet ABC" on the site

On the site you can download the textbook for free by clicking on any of the two links (links are marked with numbers 1 and 2 above in Fig. 1).

After that, a textbook will immediately open in front of you. To download it to your computer, you need:

  • In the textbook that opens in front of you, click on any of its pages with RMB (with the right mouse button).
  • A context menu will appear, in which we left-click on the "Save as ..." option (number 1 in Fig. 2).

Rice. 2 Context menu after right-clicking (right-clicking) on the page of the textbook "The ABC of the Internet"

  • The "Save As" window will appear, in which we select a folder on your computer, leave the file name what is there, or change it to another, press the "Save" button (numbers 1, 2, 3 in Fig. 4).
  • We check the presence of the textbook on our computer.

Option 2: How to download the "ABC of the Internet" from Yandex.Disk

You can do it even easier and right away

Instructions for downloading a textbook from Yandex.Disk will be simple:

  1. Click on the link above. At the same time, it does not matter whether you have your own Yandex.Disk or your own Yandex.mail, or you don't.
  2. A window will open as shown below in fig. 3.
  3. Click on the "Download" button (number 1 in Fig. 3).

Rice. 3 Download the textbook "The ABC of the Internet" from the link from Yandex.Disk

Rice. 4 We save the ABC of the Internet on your computer

  1. In the "Save as" window in the left column, select the location for the textbook, ie, the folder for storing it. I chose "Desktop" - number 1 in fig. 4.
  2. We agree with the name of the file (textbook) (number 2 in Fig. 4), or change it to something else.

The file name can be changed, but I do NOT recommend .pdf to avoid problems opening and reading this file from your computer. You can correct it in a name with Russian letters, but leave the pdf extension, for example: internet alphabet.pdf.

  1. Hurray, click on the "Save" button - number 3 in fig. 4.
  2. We check the presence of the textbook on our computer, that is, open it on our PC.

How do you like the format of presenting information in the form of a 120-page electronic textbook? Write in the comments, is it convenient?

Another tutorial - Clear Internet

Earlier, in January 2013, I wrote about the "Clear Internet" project , created by the Ministry social policy Nizhny Novgorod region powered by Google. It still exists safely. And there you can download it for free e-book"Clear Internet", also in pdf format, which I wrote about in

The Pension Fund jointly with Rostelecom have published a textbook for pensioners.

“We want all people of the older generation to master the basic skills of working on a computer and the Internet,” - this was the task set by the developers of the federal project.

The project is aimed at implementing one of the presidential decrees, according to which, in four years, 70% of all public services should be provided to Russians in electronic form.

"Alphabet of the Internet" is a charitable project. Anyone can download the textbook for free at website

One of the goals of creating the textbook was to make it easier for older people to find information and access government services, many of which they can order from the comfort of their homes. The Internet portal has a tab for the visually impaired.

Teachers of informatics, psychologists, gerontologists and pedagogical methodologists worked on the creation of the teaching aid. Thus, the resulting manual is maximally adapted to the perception of people of a respectable age. The information is presented in an accessible form and without the use of heavy terminology, so that the elderly "student" does not have additional questions. The textbook will teach a pensioner primary computer skills, help to master the Internet.

Subject to copyright protection, the creators of the manual agree to make it available for distribution on library websites. And in the section "Questions and Answers" you can find out how best to organize classes for the elderly, where the textbook "The ABC of the Internet" can be used free of charge.

The organizers of the project of teaching computer literacy "Grandma and Grandpa Online" have already become interested in the new textbook, they plan to provide their participants with this textbook. The Pension Fund and Rostelecom hope that the project will be widely disseminated and the textbook will be convenient for the elderly.

Greetings, dear reader! Today I wanted to talk about the project "".

Online retirees

The Internet has expanded the boundaries of our world, and we need a computer to learn a new source of information. The younger generation is brave and actively uses it for their own purposes. The same cannot be said about the older generation of people who have retired. Based on the research results of the analytical division of the Department information technologies the city of Moscow, the share of Internet users aged 50 and over was 28% in 2015 and is currently only increasing.

According to the results of the study, popular Internet opportunities among older generation users are reading news, using information retrieval services, watching movies and using communication services. Many Muscovites of retirement age actively order goods in online stores, making purchases from a computer, preferring to pay when receiving in cash.

The share of pensioners in the regions is still not high, but there is a trend. The main obstacle to the development of new technologies is the fear and lack of confidence of the older generation in their abilities, the lack of information support when mastering computer technology.

The Pension Fund, together with Rostelecom, have developed a special textbook "The ABC of the Internet for Pensioners" intended for older users. This self-study guide is free to download to your computer and study for free.

The textbook "The ABC of the Internet for Seniors" addresses the most pressing issues faced by most novice Internet users. Having mastered it, in the near future you will significantly expand and diversify your life. You will learn how to make video calls to friends and family, you will easily exchange emails, communicate in in social networks... You will be able to show your photos and your work to the whole world, learn to find new friends and like-minded people. Without leaving home, get government services, buy train and movie tickets, watch your favorite movies and listen to music. Well, if you still have questions, then you are welcome to my blog "Your Computer". I will always be glad to help you.

Since most people of retirement age have low vision, and long-term work at the computer can lead to rapid eye fatigue, here is your first advice:

Increase the text size of the page you are viewing. How to do it?

Method 1: Using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl and + (plus)- increase the font size, and Ctrl and - (minus)- we reduce it.

Method 2: With the key pressed Ctrl rotate the mouse wheel. In one direction there will be an increase, in the other - a decrease in the page scale.

To reset the scale to its original 100% size, simultaneously press the Ctrl and 0 (zero)

In addition, many sites now have a version for the visually impaired. The toggle icon may look like glasses or an eye.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them directly in the comments below. We will try our best to solve your problem.

Assistance in mastering a computer for retirees

People of all ages are involved in modern technologies, which helps them to always stay in touch, quickly and easily pay utilities, buy tickets, make an appointment with a doctor, conduct business and friendly correspondence, watch movies and share emotions and impressions with your comrades on social networks and not only.

It's time to explore new horizons for the older generation, but they often hesitate to ask: "How to turn on the laptop? Where to start at all? Why are there so many buttons on the keyboard? Which buttons do you need to press and in what order to make everything work / turn off / turn on / open?"

And the younger generation is not always responsive to help in mastering the computer. Buy a book as a gift: "Here, read and master." But many people need a patient and sensible explanation. Without a clear understanding of seemingly elementary actions, it is difficult for them to start communicating with the computer. Therefore, it is best to watch educational video tutorials.

Especially for the blog visitors, I post several video tutorials on a Yandex disk that you can download and watch on your computer.
Here is a partial list of free lessons:

  • how to open video AVI, MP4, MKV and others?
  • how to watch videos on the internet?
  • how to open an archive?
  • where to download the antivirus?
  • how to open an unknown file
  • how to efficiently manage files on your computer?
  • which browser is better to use for the Internet?
  • how to download files from the Internet and where to store them?
  • how to make payments securely online?
  • How to use Yandex.Money?

Video tutorials are in the komp1day.zip archive and are recorded in high quality, so the size of the archive is 860MB.

It may take several minutes to download such a volume, it all depends on the speed of your Internet connection.

Appeal to the younger generation:
If you do not have time to help your dear person in mastering the computer, then give him a gift!

Friends, if the information was useful to you, share it on social networks. The buttons are below. Let your friends be in the know.

Dear reader! You have watched the article to the end.

Rostelecom organizes computer courses for the elderly, providing high speed internet in classrooms since 2009. For five years, together with public organizations and about 700 Barnaul pensioners received certificates of completion of computer literacy courses by volunteers. The partnership in the "Alphabet of the Internet" project with the Pension Fund of Russia has become a natural continuation for the company to participate in the charitable project. "

In the textbook, in the creation of which teachers of informatics, pedagogues-methodologists, gerontologists, psychologists were involved, information about the device of a computer, rules for working with text files, video and audio materials, photographs is presented in an accessible form for the elderly. A large section is devoted to acquiring skills in working in search engines, the ability to communicate on social networks, the use of Skype and Email, as well as safety rules when using the Internet. Particular attention is paid to explanations of how and where it is possible to receive state and municipal services in electronic form on the Internet. The portal www.azbukainterneta.ru is designed, first of all, for independent mastering of the material, as well as for the work of teachers who conduct training courses.

The guests of the presentation of the "Alphabet of the Internet" were listeners and future participants of computer literacy courses, which for several years have been successfully conducted by the branch of the Unions of Pensioners of Russia in the Altai Territory. Volunteer teacher, library employee Elena Ryzhikova told pensioners what a textbook is, and with the help of interactive whiteboard showed how to independently use the portal of the same name.

The Pension Fund and Rostelecom, for which the release of the "Alphabet of the Internet" is a charitable project, are ready to transfer the rights to use this study guide representatives of any specialized courses without violating its integrity and copyright. In the Altai Territory, the textbook "The ABC of the Internet" was handed over to the regional branch of the Union of Pensioners of Russia for free distribution to participants in computer literacy courses.

The representative of the regional branch of the Union of Pensioners of Russia in the Altai Territory, Alexander Milyukov, thanked for the much needed social project: “Thanks to the authors of the textbook“ Alphabet of the Internet ”- the Pension Fund of Russia and the company“ Rostelecom ”- for the fact that, finally, a textbook has appeared, according to which pensioners can study independently, without anyone's help, because it was created specifically for the older generation ... This is really necessary, because we have to keep up with life in order to be interesting for our grandchildren, who would say: "My grandfather or my grandmother are advanced, because they are familiar with the computer!"
