Yota canceled unlimited internet. Yota announced the prices of Internet packages after canceling unlimited

The new mobile operator Yota is developing the way most users would like it. Subscribers are offered flexible tariffs, the network has a system for making proposals, and the main advantage of the operator is that it can offer truly unlimited access to the Internet, without restrictions on the speed of traffic. Let's look at what Internet tariffs Iota work in the network of this operator. Here we will talk about connection issues.

Yota Internet tariffs for phone

The development of communication technologies has led to the fact that we are paying more and more attention not to voice calls, but to communications via the Internet. That is why all operators, including Yota, take care of providing inexpensive tariffs for accessing the network.

Internet tariffs from Yota are good because they offer us almost complete absence of traffic limits(except for tariffs for smartphones). Moreover, if we access the Internet using a modem, then we may not pay at all for access to the network - the operator provides bonus free access at speeds up to 64 kbps... True, normal surfing is impossible at this speed, but it will be possible to communicate via Viber, Skype, ICQ and other instant messengers. If we want to connect to the network of the new operator, then we will see that there are not so many Internet tariffs from Yota. But they can be completely customized by adjusting the parameters and a set of services in your profile.

That is, Yota has realized the dream of many people - the creation of a personal tariff. However, let's take a closer look at the tariffs. Mobile Internet from Yota on a smartphone provided from January 25, 2017 with limits (unlimited for a smartphone for 240 rubles has sunk into oblivion). But there is also a plus - we get the opportunity to use traffic for free within some applications (with unlimited mobile Internet for instant messengers and social networks).

Yes, unlimited from Iota has disappeared, but mobile communication has not become less profitable. Today, the connection conditions in Moscow and the Moscow region are such that subscribers can independently configure their tariff plan - the network has a separate selection of minutes and traffic packages. Here are just some of the Yota packages:

  • 200 minutes within Russia and 2 GB of traffic - 370 rubles / 30 days;
  • 200 minutes 10 GB - 480 rubles / 30 days;
  • 800 minutes and 5 GB - 700 rubles / 30 days;
  • 5000 minutes and 15 GB - 2750 rubles / 30 days.

Alternative options are also available. In some regions there are lower prices - for example, the minimum package can be bought for 290 rubles and even for 250. Internet speed for a smartphone varies widely - up to 5-6 Mbps in the 3G coverage area and up to 10-20 Mbps in the 4G zone.

If the main traffic package implies a certain limit, then unlimited is available for social networks and instant messengers. Each service is connected separately - social networks cost 25 rubles / 30 days, messengers - 15 rubles / 30 days. The option "Unlimited messages" is paid separately - 50 rubles / 30 days.

How to connect Yota unlimited internet for a smartphone? It is impossible to do this - unlimited is available only on the modem. If you need a connection without traffic and speed restrictions, then you will need an Iota SIM card with unlimited Internet - such SIM cards are available from those who managed to purchase them before January 25, 2017. Today it is impossible to connect unlimited.

Tariff for tablets

If unlimited Internet for a smartphone from Yota does not work, then for tablets, he stayed. It is presented by a single, but regulated tariff. Actually, except for access to the network, it does not include anything - there are no packages of minutes and SMS. But on tablets they are often not needed, mobile voice communication is expensive here (3.9 rubles / min.). But on the tariff for the tablet, you can optimize costs:

  • 50 rubles - unlimited for one day;
  • 590 rubles - unlimited for a month;
  • 4500 rubles - unlimited for a year.

Thus, we have a favorable tariff for the Internet - you can download large files on your tablet, watch HD videos and enjoy high-speed surfing without bothering yourself with tedious calculations of the remaining traffic. Together with unlimited Internet, we rid ourselves of Yota's speed limits and use Internet access to the fullest.

Cons of the tariff - a possible decrease in speed under high load, there is a limitation on downloading torrents.

Tariff for modems and routers

Now consider Internet tariff from Yota for a computer... To you you need to purchase a modem, router or a whole Internet center with connectors for telephony. All of this is sold at Yota service offices. Moreover, any device can be delivered free of charge to your home or office.

What is the Yota tariff for a modem or router? Here we can choose the period for which the services will be provided - for 30 days, for 2 hours or for 24 hours. Network access on 2 hours will cost us 50 rubles, after which the speed will be limited to 64 kbps (free of charge, for any period). But the paid two hours are provided at maximum speed (Internet speed from Yota in 4G networks can reach several tens of megabits per second). The same applies to package for 24 hours, the cost of which is 150 rubles.

With regard to access for 30 days, then here we can adjust the speed access at your own discretion:

  • Full unlimited speed service - 1400 rubles / month;
  • 15 Mbps - the subscription fee will be 1350 rubles / month;
  • 12 Mbps - the monthly payment will be 1300 rubles;
  • For 10 Mbps we will pay 1250 rubles / month;
  • The speed of 9.2 Mbit will cost us 1200 rubles / month;
  • The monthly payment for 8.5 Mbit will be 1150 rubles;
  • For an access speed of 7.8 Mbit, we will have to pay 1100 rubles / month;
  • The subscription fee for 7.1 Mbit will be 1,050 rubles / month;
  • Internet at a speed of 6.4 Mbit will cost us 1000 rubles / month;
  • Having reduced the speed to 5.7 Mbit, we will pay 950 rubles / month;
  • 5 Mbps - our monthly payment will be 900 rubles;
  • 4.1 Mbps - the subscription fee for this speed is 850 rubles / month;
  • A modest 3.1 Mbps will cost subscribers 800 rubles / month;
  • If the speed is reduced to 2.1 Mbit, then the subscription fee will be 750 rubles / month;
  • For the Internet at a speed of 1.7 Mbit, we will pay 700 rubles / month;
  • 650 rubles / month - such is the subscription fee for the speed of 1.3 Mbit;
  • More than a fast 1 Mbit will cost users 600 rubles / month;
  • For 550 rubles / month we get a speed of 896 kbps, which is not much different from one megabit;
  • By dropping the speed to 768 kbps (enough for surfing), we will receive a monthly fee of 500 rubles / month;
  • For a speed of 640 kbps, you need to pay 450 rubles / month;
  • For an honest half megabyte, you will have to pay 400 rubles / month;
  • As for 64 kbps, you don't need to pay for such a speed - use Internet access for free.

Adjust your tariff as you like, changing the speed when it is convenient for you - all recalculations will be made by the network automatically. To learn how to test the speed of Yota, read a detailed review on our website.

Setting up the Internet Iota on a tablet, phone and PC

Mobile operator and wireless Internet provider Yota has done everything possible to make access to communication services as easy as possible. All devices are configured as easily and without any difficulties - more on that later. Internet settings from Yota on Android are made by creating an access point named YOTA and specifying the APN - intermet.yota. Leave the access point type by default, leave the rest of the fields blank - we don't need them. But in 99% of cases, Android smartphones and tablets are configured automatically.

The same applies to iOS and Windows Phone devices- if automatic settings are not installed, register the access point manually. As soon as everything is ready, we activate the data transfer, go to any site, wait for the redirection to the registration page and create your Iota profile there - thanks to the prompts, you will cope with this task without much difficulty.

About the same Internet from Yota is configured on the computer- we connect the modem, wait until it connects to the network, after which we go to any site, wait for the redirection to the profile creation page and register. After registration, we top up the account and use the services - the price of the Internet depends on the selected speed.

In order to turn off the Internet on Yota, abandon the current package or block the SIM card.

According to our information, all rumors that the company has decided to cancel its approach to the pricing of its services are completely true. The Yota management is preparing to abandon the long-term promotion of its main "trump card" - a real no-limit.

Yota 2017 - no Unlimited

From January 25, 2017, all new subscribers will not be able to see unlimited tariffs in the list of services and tariffs.

Packaged solutions and unlimited access to mobile applications. In short, all lovers of VKontakte, Twitter, Facebook and some others networks (the list is being finalized) will not have to worry about using traffic in some networks, but it is worth going beyond the tariff and all the benefits will end there ...

Prices

The new cost of package tariffs will be close to the proposals of competitors, but as we know, the fate of an MVNO operator is a poor and unstable connection, which makes Yota one of the “slowest” and problematic 4G operators in Russia.
You can study the new tariffs for Yota smartphones in more detail in the updated article -. A convenient table contains all the rates, cost, minutes, traffic for each limit package.

Outcomes

It is a pity that instead of improving the quality of services provided and developing fourth-generation networks, the company's management did not come up with anything more rational than abandoning the long-term motto - Yota Unlimited Internet. Megafon's purchase of Yota together with a frequency resource was an illegal operation that was prohibited by applicable law. Unfortunately, the degradation of the company is inevitable.

The decision to cancel packages with unlimited Internet traffic was announced at a meeting with journalists on Thursday, December 22, by the General Director of Skartel (Yota brand) Vladimir Dobrynin.

From January 25, Yota will not sell unlimited Internet, but packages of minutes and Internet. The changes will only affect the Smartphone SIM and do not apply to offers for tablets and modems.

According to Dobrynin,

80% of Yota customers use no more than 5 GB of traffic per month, so now they don't have to pay extra for data they don't use.

At the same time, the option of an unlimited Internet package will remain available to old Yota subscribers.

It has not yet been decided what will happen when the traffic expires. On the Russian market, there are two options: a decrease in the speed of the Internet connection or an additional charge for traffic in excess of the package.

Dobrynin stressed that the Yota subscriber base is the most advanced part of the population, who are “innovators and trendsetters”. Now the operator is faced with the task of expanding the subscriber base.

Together with the cancellation of the unlimited Internet package, Yota will reduce the cost of its tariff plans so that they are comparable with competitors. So far, the company has not disclosed pricing.

In addition, the operator will allow users to purchase, as an additional option, the connection of mobile applications, the traffic of which will not be taken into account.

Initially, it will be possible to activate individual services of social networks and instant messengers. Dobrynin did not name their list, adding that YouTube would definitely not be included in it.

VimpelCom (Beeline) works in a similar way, which does not take into account the traffic of individual sites. Last year, the company also collaborated with the WhatsApp messenger, without counting the amount of information transmitted through it. The partnership lasted until January 15, 2016.

Signal for the Big Three

Yota became the first major Russian operator to make such a decision.

The possible cancellation of tariffs with unlimited Internet traffic was announced on December 15 at a meeting with the press by the new CEO of VimpelCom, Shelle Morten Johnsen. In his opinion, such measures discipline subscribers consuming large volumes of traffic in conditions of high network congestion.

Johnsen drew attention to the lack of frequency resources. The move to abolish unlimited Internet in operator tariffs is due to the fact that operators' 3G networks are already overloaded, and 4G networks are being loaded at a high rate.

“You will see step by step that the industry will gradually move away from unlimited tariffs. Users with normal data consumption will not see the change, but it will discipline people who use extremely large amounts of data, ”said Johnsen.

The head of VimpelCom did not disclose when the operator will abandon Anlim, since he cannot do it on an “individual basis,” but noted that the company would support this trend.

“Unlimited tariffs are in some demand, however, the actual consumption of data traffic on them is not much higher than on tariffs with included data traffic packages.

In the future, unlimited tariffs for all subscribers will hold back the further development of the market ”,

- Anna Aibasheva, head of Beeline's press service, told Gazeta.Ru.

According to her, international experience suggests that a balance in this matter can be achieved through the introduction of a pricing model based on the cost of a unit of transmitted data, and not on the cost of a minute of voice communication.

MTS refrained from commenting.

Konstantin Prokshin, head of the strategic communications department at Tele2, believes that unlimited bundled tariffs are a niche proposal that meets the requirements of a certain group of users. As a representative of the operator explains, such subscribers need unlimited mobile Internet and, to a lesser extent, need minutes and SMS.

“Our networks are built on modern equipment, so they have a large margin for traffic transmission while maintaining high download speeds. So

we do not plan to give up unlimited tariffs yet - this offer helps us to attract new subscribers ",

- he said in an interview with Gazeta.Ru. However, Prokshin added that the company will monitor market trends.

A similar position was taken by Megafon. “We did not plan any changes in the near future,” the operator's press service said.

Now they will catch up

The transformation into a full-fledged operator service was facilitated by the purchase of Yota assets by Megafon in 2014, on the infrastructure of which activities are carried out.

At the start, Yota singled out a completely unlimited Internet package as its feature. The only limitation for users was the impossibility of “distributing” it from a smartphone to other devices.

At the same time, unlimited Internet options in the Big Three packages appeared relatively recently.

Thus, MTS launched Smart Unlimited on the market in mid-May 2016, Beeline introduced # ALL is possible in July. At the same time, VimpelCom had a similar functionality available in the postpaid tariffs of the All! Line back in the spring. In the summer, Megafon joined the new trend by launching Megafon. Unlimited. The company also has the option "Unlimited Internet", which is activated at other tariffs. Tele2 gave anlim, called Unlimited Black, to subscribers in 33 regions in August.

Typically, when launching “Smart Unlimited” from MTS, Yota “trolled” it, bringing a cake to the competitor's office with the inscription “Congratulations on unlimited! Now catch up. "

Iota provides tariffs for unlimited Internet for 30 days with the ability to adjust the speed of access. Traffic without speed limit cost 1400 rubles per month.

Other options for Yota with home Internet (monthly payment in rubles):

  • 15 Mbps –1350;
  • 12 Mbps - 1300;
  • 10 Mbps - 1250;
  • 9.2 Mbps - 1200;
  • 8.5 Mbps - 1150;
  • 5.7 Mbps - 950;
  • 5 Mbps - 900;
  • 4.1 Mbps - 850;
  • 3.1 Mbps - 800;
  • 1 Mbps - 600;
  • 896 kbps - 550;
  • 768 kbps - 500;
  • 640 kbps - 450.

Unlimited tariffs until January 25 of this year included 64 kbit offers, where Internet access is free.

Offers can be customized with maximum convenience. The connected tariff will be recalculated automatically.

Setting up unlimited Internet Yota on your tablet and phone

Please note that tablets are based on different operating systems, so the setting will be slightly different in each case.

If we are talking about Android, select "Settings" in the menu, then "Wireless networks". Then you need to click on the tab "More" and "Mobile network". Selecting "Access points", click on "Create an access point" and enter into the empty section "internet.yota". You don't need to write anything in the rest of the sections.

Before setting up the service on the iPad tablet device, you need to make sure that the device is configured for the 4G network. You need to find "Settings", section "Cellular" - "Cellular data" and in the APN section register the same as in Android. Empty fields are left blank.

It is necessary to mention how to connect the service to devices on Windows Phone. The necessary settings can be seen in the corresponding menu, there you need to find the section "Access Point" - "Add" and write out similar information.

When all actions are completed, the device needs to be rebooted. Next, the company's application is downloaded and installed, where you can choose a tariff plan or refuse it. Setting up internet on your tablet is pretty simple.

If the problem shows up after the provider sent out the automatic settings, you don't need to worry. You can configure access using the manual configuration method.

Sometimes, auto-tuning messages do not pass the device's spam filter or are lost in the process of being sent. If the settings are not received, you need to write to the company, or use the mobile application.

After receiving the settings, they are installed, guided by the prompts. When the procedure fails, you need to make a manual setting.

On a smartphone, you can configure the mobile Internet by manual configuration. The same applies to a tablet computer, if they are controlled by the Android OS. The subscriber must find "Settings" on the device and select the "More" section. Next, you should find "Mobile networks". This is where the APN access point is created. Further - the search for the section (upper right corner) and the "+" sign.

The APN creation operation is loaded. The name “Yota” is entered, and in the “APN” section a combination of the words “yota.ru” or “internet.yota”.

Will Yota cancel unlimited internet?

It has long been rumored that Yota is abandoning the concept of unlimited internet. From January 25, the company will provide only traffic and minutes packages. The changes will affect the product "SIM card for a smartphone". Experts actively discussed that yota will give up unlimited internet on smartphones.

Since 2017, it has become known that most of the company's customers do not consume more than 5 GB of traffic per month, which means there is no need to overpay for the service. Despite the fact that Yota is canceling its unlimited internet, existing subscribers will continue to receive the unlimited internet option. Previously, no mobile operator made such a decision.

Options for work after the traffic expires are discussed. You can reduce the connection speed or charge for additional traffic on top of the installed service.

It is emphasized that the company's customer base is young and advanced people with "innovative understanding". There is a risk that some subscribers will choose to opt out of the service. The operator is now facing the question of expanding its base.

Together with the cancellation of the Yota unlimited tariff, the cost of tariffs has also decreased. The company prefers to cut high prices for a better competitive edge. Iota allows the client to buy mobile applications, their traffic will not be counted.

Initially, it will be possible to use separate social networks and messengers. The YouTube site is known to be missing from the list.

Beeline (VimpelCom) works in a similar way, the company does not take into account the traffic of specific resources. In 2016, "Beeline" WhatsApp, and did not count the amount of data transmitted through this messenger. The end of the partnership is dated January 15 last year.

On the possible cancellation of unlimited tariffs on January 25 this year, Schell Morten Johnsen, the new head of Beeline, previously reported. He argued that such measures improved client discipline in high-traffic environments.

Many people explain the cancellation of unlimited Internet by the fact that 3G networks are too congested, and 4G downloads are growing rapidly.

After Iota canceled unlimited Internet, the tariffs should be to the liking of customers. The company's management says that subscribers will not see any negative changes. The innovation is aimed at establishing order and systematization of a large amount of data.

After the federal mobile operator Yota announced new conditions for the provision of communication services for smartphone owners. They will become available for connection starting January 25, 2017.

“We have made the product line for smartphones simpler and clearer - new clients of the company will be able to buy a package of minutes and traffic at reduced prices, as well as include a new option“ Unlimited mobile applications ”. Thanks to the unique option, customers can not think about how many megabytes are spent on communicating with friends or watching videos on social networks, ”says Yota CEO Vladimir Dobrynin.

Depending on the region, the junior Yota service package will cost from 250 rubles, it includes from 150 minutes and from 5 GB of traffic. The senior package costs from 2,000 to 2,500 rubles and includes 5,000 minutes and 30 GB. When traffic and calls are exhausted, customers can buy 5 GB for 100 rubles, as well as additional minutes of calls at a reduced price. For active users of social networks and instant messengers, the operator offers a new option "Unlimited mobile applications", which allows you to use the following services without spending a packet of traffic: Facebook, Instagram, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Twitter, Facebook Messenger, Skype, Telegram, and Viber and WhatsApp. The cost of connecting this option starts from 100 rubles, depending on the region.

Yota representatives explain the changes that have taken place and the refusal from completely unlimited Internet by the fact that the previously existing connection conditions have already lost their relevance and the operator has managed to collect absolutely all customers interested in unlimited mobile traffic. That is why the company emphasizes that at the moment they do not plan to change the tariffication rules for current customers. At the same time, they note that the strategy aimed at further expanding the subscriber base required changes in tariffs to attract smartphone owners who are less actively using mobile Internet and do not want to overpay for unlimited traffic.

However, we believe that these explanations can hardly be called convincing. The statement that all smartphone owners interested in the unlimited mobile Internet have already connected to Yota seems too self-confident. One of the possible reasons for switching to a package offer may be not only to expand the user base, but also to increase the operator's income from additional traffic purchases after spending the main package and connections of the "Unlimited mobile applications" option. In addition, the operator may be interested in limiting the load on the network due to a more economical attitude of users to mobile Internet packages. Most likely, the number of users of completely unlimited traffic has reached the point where further growth will cease to be beneficial for the operator, and customers will face a deterioration in the quality of services due to technical limitations of the infrastructure. Otherwise, new customers would be left with a choice between a package and an unlimited tariff, or unlimited would become a separate plug-in option.
