Why do you need training. Why training is needed. Why people are afraid to learn better what training is

Training is a word that is on everyone's lips these days. Training is trendy. It's modern. This is already an integral part of life in general, and education in particular. So what is training?

History of the training

The very term "training" came to us from the English-speaking world. One of its influential supporters and distributors as a teaching method was Dale Carnegie, who created a training center named after himself at the beginning of the 20th century, where he more than successfully taught those who wished to speak oratory and other socially significant skills.

But training received its real birth in psychology thanks to the activities of the notorious Kurt Lewin, who, with his supporters, created training groups for people complaining of low communication skills in the 40s of the last century. The format of his classes showed such impressive results that soon an entire training academy was created in the USA. Since then, this method has been an integral part of both educational process and personal development in various areas of life, for example, in family relationships and in business.

Training Features

What is coaching and how is it different from other teaching methods? First, you need to understand that training is not just a workout or a lecture, it is something more. But at the same time, it includes their elements. The training program is such that it includes both theoretical material and a practical part, designed to instill and develop certain skills and abilities in a person. The latter is given the main attention. Training is always practical, its tasks are vital, designed to be implemented in everyday reality. In this it differs from a lecture, where only “how to” is told. In the training, a situation is modeled, which is immediately played out by the participants, and then discussed. Thanks to this, theoretical information is processed in real time, as a result, the participant, in addition to knowledge, takes out real experience.

An important feature of the training is that it is always conducted in a group. Such categoricalness in the mandatory interaction of people is based on a number of psychological laws. A group is not just a few people, it is a single organism with its own collective memory. Therefore, thanks to the methods that training involves, the development and growth of the individual proceed faster. This is explained by the law of synergy, which makes learning many times more effective than with individual learning.

Classification of trainings

In modern science there is no unified system training classifications. Here we will follow the most common concepts and divide the training system into three groups according to their types of focus. In addition, trainings can be divided according to the goals they set for their participants.

So, trainings are of the following types:

Business trainings.

Psychological trainings.

Personal trainings.

As for the goals, according to this criterion, only two categories can be distinguished:

Instrumental training.

Fundamental training.

Three types of training

The first type of training is related to business. Its task is to train entrepreneurs, directors and managers commercial enterprises various techniques and secrets of successful business management, survival in a competitive environment, conflict resolution, staff motivation, and the like.

What is psychological training? This is a training, the task of which is to upgrade a person in the field of communication skills, social adaptation and, in general, to instill socially useful individual skills in a person. For example, training in communication with employees of the state traffic inspectorate or training in sales techniques will be called psychological, since, unlike the first, they work for an individual, and not for a company. However, their competence still includes such qualities that are manifested in public, professional, or in some other social activities. Therefore, there are also personal trainings or personal growth trainings. These are also aimed at upgrading the individual person, but they work with the inner world of a person - complexes, psychological blocks, fears and other "good" that we carry with us every day like an unnecessary burden and cannot dump it. Among such trainings there may also be communication training, for example, with persons of the opposite sex - in order to overcome any internal barrier, perhaps fear or embarrassment.

Two training goals

What is training not in terms of format, but in terms of purpose? It is a learning method that helps a person solve a specific problem. And he does it in two ways. Firstly, by providing a person with a toolkit that allows him to achieve the desired effect with his help, overcoming all obstacles. In this case, the training will be called instrumental. Secondly, the training can aim at instilling the skills of a general vision of the problem and mastering the basic mechanisms of its appearance and solution for an independent adequate choice of specific tools. In other words, a person is given not one specific “pill” from a problem, but an understanding of the concept - knowledge of how, when and what kind of “pill” in each hotel situation needs to be made and taken. This is what training is called fundamental.

What is training? Types of training

Training is one of modern forms intensive learning.

All over the world, training is the most effective and fastest tool for development and internal change.

Typically, training is conducted in a group of two to five to several hundred people. All of them interact with other participants, perform personal, group and general tasks, and so on. In general, they live a collective life.

Very important people who can't afford to frolic or train in a crowd order "personal training" for themselves. That is, one coach works with one student. Usually this is a very expensive entertainment.

Difference from seminars and regular training

Training is a separate form of the educational process, its feature is the high intensity of the classes and the use of different ways achievement of the declared result directly in the course of training.

For example, there is such a form of training as a seminar. During the seminar you may be given a lot of information, but the facilitator does not aim to make you practically understand what he has told you. You have received the information, and then either assimilate it yourself, or contact specialists so that they control you and help you assimilate the acquired knowledge - your choice.

People leave the training having gained practical skills in using what the training was about. Or by solving some personal problem that they could not cope with on their own for a long time.

It is clear that this is usually a low level of mastery of skills - due to the limited time of the training. But you will definitely get the first experience of practical use of the training content.

Types of trainings according to recruitment principles

According to the principles of recruiting group members, all trainings are divided into open and corporate.

Open trainings are trainings that bring together completely different people who are interested in obtaining the relevant skills and who paid for the training from their own funds.

Corporate trainings are held with the personnel of some organization (group of organizations) by order of its management. That is, employees of this organization are required to undergo training in order to improve their skills. In most cases, these are skills trainings (business trainings).

The coach is paid by the company.

Types of trainings by goals.

In general, all group trainings can be divided into five large groups. As a criterion for division, various goals are used, which must be achieved during the training.

Skill training

The goal of skills training is to give participants a specific skill to use later in their work or personal life.

There are many such trainings.

First of all, this includes most business trainings, where they give various skills that can then be used in your own business. professional activity. For example, this includes sales skills, negotiation, public speaking, time management, and more.

In the field personal growth skills training includes dating, communication, stress management, speed reading, and so on.

These trainings are mostly mental, since they are aimed at putting certain information into the memory and subconscious of a person, which will then be realized through his body (speech, movement, behavior, and so on). Although the elements of training the acquired knowledge will be required.

For example, a young man who was afraid to meet a girl, after passing the training on dating technology, can easily complete this task that was previously unsolvable for him. Naturally, at the same time, positive internal changes will occur.

Transformational trainings (personal growth trainings)

The purpose of the training is to get out of a problem situation, to discover new opportunities.

Transformational trainings include trainings that allow a person to discover, understand or realize something new in his life. Usually, right during the training, a person undergoes strong internal changes (breakthrough, insight, insight, forgiveness, etc.), which is why it is called “transformational”.

Naturally, in most transformational trainings, a person also receives some knowledge and skills, but they are not main task training.

In some cases, during the training, a person does not receive any new skills that he could then use in ordinary (outside the training) life. This includes many trainings related to overcoming fears and other internal barriers. For example, training walking on coals or broken glass. A person who has undergone such training usually has a sharp increase in self-esteem, and he becomes a more positive and effective person. Although the skill of walking on coals is unlikely to be useful to him in the future.

People go to transformational trainings to solve some of their problems. Completely satisfied people, or people who do not want to receive external help, or who do not believe that someone can help them, do not go to such trainings.

By paying for training, a person thereby confirms the importance of obtaining new knowledge or skills for himself. He is already motivated for personal change, and the coach just needs to give him what he came for.

Types of training according to the degree of rigidity

Transformational training can have varying degrees of rigidity in the processes involved.

Soft trainings include those during which its participants receive new information, perform tasks, participate in games, analyze their own and other people's situations according to the rules proposed by the coach. And in the end, they understand how the situation that led them to the training arose. And how to get out of it. An internal transformation has taken place.

There are thousands of such trainings, and they can be aimed at improving relationships between people (“How to stop worrying”), increasing self-esteem, creating a family (“How to get married”), increasing sexuality (“Geisha School”), changing relationships with money ( “How to become a magnet for money”), the search for a vocation (“How to find your own business”) and so on.

In trainings of medium hardness, more provocative methods are used - role-playing games(games where you have to make difficult decisions that break established beliefs like " Balloon”, where you need to throw overboard the participants in the game), tasks for interacting with unpleasant people (for example, asking a passerby for money), committing simple, but previously unacceptable or condemned actions, and so on. Sometimes very strict rules for attending classes are introduced, fines are introduced for being late. These trainings usually give the best results, but for people with a subtle psyche, they can be a source of great stress.

In trainings of high rigidity, even more provocative techniques are used, which first take a person out of their usual state of closeness and control over 9

situation (for example, by direct insults). And then, when a person throws off the usual protective shells, work is carried out with him, leading to strong internal changes. This includes trainings according to the American Life Spring method and derivatives from them.

Most often, transformational trainings are conducted in the form of open trainings.

Psychotherapeutic trainings

The purpose of the training is to eliminate an unpleasant mental state.

These trainings are designed to eliminate some kind of stable psychological deviations - feelings of guilt, increased anxiety or suspiciousness, dissatisfaction with oneself, fears, insecurity, and so on.

During the training, its participants perform a number of tasks, the meaning of which may not be clear or obvious to them (they breathe intensively, draw, act out situations), but in the aggregate, the processes carried out give the desired result - changes in the mental state to a more calm and joyful one.

These include Art Therapy trainings, Helinger constellations, transpersonal psychotherapy, body psychotherapy, dance movement therapy and so on.

During these trainings, people usually get some skills that they can then use. But the acquisition of specific skills is an additional function of training.

Spiritual Development Trainings

The purpose of the training is to give a new worldview, new system values.

During the training, some new philosophical or philosophical-religious model of the world order and practical skills for existence within the framework of this model are given. Often such trainings are based on various esoteric theories.

For example, yoga given in fitness centers is a common wellness exercise. And yoga, which is given by Teachers who have been trained in India and received a blessing to conduct training, gives their students not only a set of physical exercises, but also a complete picture of the world order and recommendations for living in the world, including a system of nutrition, behavior, a system of goals and everything else. .

Trainings related to spiritual development trainings can be easily identified by their names. Usually, the titles contain some higher goals that are very different from the goals of quite applied skills training, for example. Typical titles for spiritual development trainings: “System Evolutionary Development”, training “Traveling outside the body. Training in practical skills”, training “Third way” and so on.

The peculiarity of the training is that it has a limited period. If you are offered a long cycle of classes, then this is no longer training, but something else.

Wellness and development trainings

The purpose of the training is to give skills to increase the capabilities of our body.

This does not include the training of athletes - it aims to win the competition.

During health-improving and developing trainings, its participants perform a number of tasks and master exercises for working with their bodies, which can then be performed independently.

In principle, this is usually a kind of skill training, but it has a specific area of application - its own body. Sometimes health-improving trainings do not provide skills for subsequent independent use, since the exercise can only be performed in a group (body psychotherapy training, for example).

Health and development trainings include various breathing practices, Rajneesh dynamic meditations, energy practices, sexual trainings (“Male Power”) and so on.

This concludes the classification of the most popular group trainings.

On the one hand, the considered trainings are adjoined by various training programs such as individual seminars, training programs in a specialty or advanced training. In these programs, trainings can be used as separate element intensive training and imparting practical skills.

On the other hand, various religious and spiritual teachings can adjoin trainings, which are not trainings, but can use training terminology and names to attract people. These include the teachings of numerous Indian Masters, the school of Gurdjieff or various groups who study Eastern or Slavic spiritual and religious practices.

be careful

And further. Today, quite active religious organizations have appeared, which, under the guise of trainings for personal growth or spiritual development, can lure you into this organization.

That is, you somehow find an advertisement for a training on mastering energy practices, the art of tantra, or mastering feng shui, and go there. There really is such a training, but the trainers will openly or covertly invite you to get acquainted with the Truth, glorify some Teacher or go to their ashram. All this is usually hidden behind esoteric terms and references to secret knowledge received from the Teacher.

Most likely, you will be very carefully and professionally involved in religious organization closed type, with all the ensuing consequences.

Therefore, be careful, use the services of only those coaches and training centers that you learn about from completely trustworthy sources. Otherwise, instead of the desired spiritual development, you can get a big spiritual trauma.

The brain needs intense training just as much as other muscle groups. You can train it in two ways: self-education and with the help of a professional. From a large number of exercises, the trainer will be able to create an individual program to solve visible problems. And then proceed to the invisible. Alternate intensive with a period of reflection and thus come to the expected result. Training is the most effective method understand, accept, and change yourself.

"I used to say, 'I hope things change.' Then I realized that there is only one way for everything to change - to change myself. Jim Rohn

What is training?

Training is training for the mind. A concentrate of thoughts and knowledge, supported by personal experiences. After all, events painted on an emotional level are remembered better than everyday or neutral ones. The development of skills is faster, and the solution of psychological problems, as if by itself, pops up in memory. The atmosphere in the classroom is dynamic, sometimes even unpredictable. All participants seem to become part of a large organism, think tank which is the coach himself.

Training is a tool to get out of your comfort zone. An opportunity not only to move into an unpleasant situation, but also to live, feel and find a solution under the supervision of an experienced coach. In addition to the opportunity, participants receive an emotional shake-up and an experience of empathy. One that cannot be bought, but can be experienced. The world's greatest scientists are trying to understand the chemistry of the brain. The purpose of the training is to reveal the deepest needs of a person.

Types of trainings.

1. Corporate or open.

Corporate trainings are organized exclusively within the company. Topics vary from corporate culture to legislation in the accounting field. Open events are open to everyone. The name of the Coach comes first. It often overshadows even the theme of the event. A coach is not just a media personality. This is a person with a profile education in the field of psychology and physiology, who has been trained at home and abroad. Many coaches keep blogs and also conduct author's programs. Meetings with them are not cheap, but the number of grateful participants proves that not a single penny was wasted.

2. Skills, abilities.

Practice makes the master. Professionalism grows with constant learning. Trainings for managers, accountants, hairdressers, make-up artists combine theory and practical training. You can “pump your skills” in oratory or sales techniques both at internal (corporate) and at open events. The art of personal branding is honed in self-presentation exercises. The first step to mastering oratory skills can be a speech in front of those present. They will give you feedback, and the coach will summarize the result. Wellness training develops skills healthy lifestyle lifestyle, exercise and nutrition.

3. Psychological.

Changes in life are like circles on the water from a thrown stone. One step towards yourself is the beginning of a long journey of self-knowledge. Most of the participants come just for self-knowledge. Therefore, the bulk of the training is psychological. Whether it is training in a certain technique of interaction, manipulation (NLP) or a process of personal research - the science of psychology is at the heart of it.

4. Transformational or personal growth trainings.

It seems incredible, but a deep transformation is possible in a short period of time, which fits into the framework of the meeting. Long-standing problems are particularly sensitive to the transformation. Old grievances, child-parent relationships, dissatisfaction with appearance - experiences that have been accumulating in the soul for years and have long been ready to be worked out. Sometimes one skillful “click” is enough, as a person is visited by insight (insight). Behavior changes, as does attitude. A different personality really comes out of the audience. Sometimes in a few days of the intensive you can achieve the result that you tried to achieve for long hours of individual psychotherapy.

5. Research or know yourself.

Designed for an already prepared audience. A critical question is brought to the attention of the audience. The general energy of the participants, directed by the trainer, helps to know oneself better. Sometimes a personal situation is brought to the “public court”, in the discussion of which all those present are included. A person learns himself, the rest - the experience of emotional empathy.

6. Trainings for introverts.

“Introverts in the modern world have learned to masterfully disguise themselves as extroverts,” a quote from the book by Susan Cain. A journalist and writer who has devoted many years to researching people's temperament, Susan Cain teaches how to use her character traits. There is an opinion that modern world“Sharpened” for extroverts. People who draw energy from within themselves are considered almost sociopaths. Participants do not try to dispel this myth, they learn to accept themselves, following the experience of famous introverts - Dale Carnegie and Abraham Lincoln.

7. Personal development (adaptation, development of self-confidence).

Shyness, tightness, inability to communicate with strangers - all these "flaws" are corrected with the help of exercises based on standard (or non-standard) psychological techniques. But first, painful points of contact with the world need to be identified, met with them, and only after that try to change. Adaptation is possible in everyday life. Developing self-confidence has nothing to do with self-confidence and selfishness. Self-confidence is built on the foundation of self-esteem, so external "pumping skills" rarely helps in such a delicate matter.

8. Psychotherapeutic (stress resistance).

Stress is hardwired into the deep genes of humanity. Finding the cause of stress is half the battle. To understand what shades of stress colors life - to make it work for your own benefit. Mankind has learned to live with stress, trying to deal with it, and training helps to understand its nature. After all, it is not so much external as internal troubles that are destructive. Fear of mistakes and the opinions of people (often strangers), constant dependence on gadgets add to the sad statistics of diseases. At psychotherapeutic trainings, participants live through stressful situations, exploring them in a separate audience.

9. Relaxation.

Journalist and head of the training company Tony Schwartz argues that the most important human resource is not time, but energy. And proper management of it is the key to personal effectiveness and happiness. Participants of relaxation trainings learn to accumulate, replenish and properly use the most important internal resource. People living in the digital age are too dismissive of their personal sources of food, trying to do the best they can. And inaction has almost equated to a crime. Relaxation helps not only to relax and let go of problems. Participants learn to use their energy sparingly in order to work "less but better."

What are the trainings for?

Correspondence training a priori cannot be successful. What is the value of a few days of the intensive for the participants?

  • Accommodation. The group raises questions that participants will never ask themselves or hear from loved ones.
  • Feedback. Participants change themselves and change each other. Communication in a group helps to get a conscious reaction from others without offensive comparisons.
  • Skills. If not professional, then behavioral. To live through a situation that happened 10-20-30 years ago and prevents you from living until now, to respond to rudeness or allow yourself to show love - the chance to do this appears precisely at the training.
  • Here and now. To understand what the soul wants, and not whispered by the brain or public opinion. Learn to detect and voice emotions and feelings, even such as anger, hatred, anger.

In the first place is the candidacy of the coach. He is not just the think tank of the congregation. He "pulls" passive participants, tactfully pulls back too active ones. The trainer sees when the overall energy drops and gives dynamic exercises to “lift the spirit”. He works with everyone, communicating with everyone individually at the same time. The group lives and works as one organism, and at the finish line everyone gets their own result. The audience at the exit excitedly discusses the work process and rushes to share their impressions in their own blogs. Or rolls his eyes, remembering the wasted money. In each case - the merit of the coach and his methodology.

How are the trainings going?

Events are held with a limited number of participants. Sometimes the trainer may work with an assistant. Indifferent and abstaining do not exist here. Do not discount the personal activity of the participants. Even in the general group, you can achieve significant results (just for yourself) with active interaction with the rest of the participants.

In order not to get into an uncomfortable situation, you need to pay attention to the degree of load and the degree of rigidity in the work of the coach. Trainings high degree harshness is carried out in an aggressive or even rough manner. The results are rather controversial. Such events are useful for people who are ready for authoritarian methods of behavior on the part of the leader. What do participants get? They learn to take decisive steps to achieve a goal or to resist such unceremonious interference in their own lives.

The parallel of training with sports is not accidental. The brain, like muscles, needs a good shake to develop. For both, an amateurish approach or incorrectly selected loads are contraindicated. The experience of people who have lived and survived difficult situations, allows you to write your own instructions for life. Training will help you find the right words.

More recently, such a form of education as training was a rarity in our country. But a little time passed, and they became an integral part of the personnel policy of many enterprises.

More recently, such a form of education as training was a rarity in our country. But a little time passed, and they became an integral part of the personnel policy of many enterprises. However, in spite of that. that more and more companies are now using coaching services, this is not always accompanied by informing the general public about the benefits and real possibilities of short-term training.

What is training

Training is a process of mastering techniques aimed at building an effective professional activity. Its main task is to teach business technologies necessary to compete in the market. On the other hand, training can be defined as an intensive form of learning that combines theoretical lectures and practical development of skills in a short period of time (1-2 days). At the same time, the acquired skills are quite stable and effective, and their use in the future provides the results for which they were designed.

Who is a coach

Very important role in the process of training is given to the trainer-consultant. According to experts, 90% of the success of the entire event depends on his personality. However, the lack of unambiguous criteria for evaluating the professionalism of coaches contributes to the emergence of a large number of charlatans, people who "sell air." The need for professionals is increasing every year. The growth in demand for training services is proportional to the growth of prejudices and stereotypes. Who is a coach?

Coaching is a completely independent profession. This specialist is neither a seller, nor a manager, nor a marketer. This is a facilitator [from English, to fascilitate - to mediate any process], who, using special methods and approaches, quickly (within one to five days) and effectively trains salespeople - to sell, managers - to manage, secretaries - to coordinate the work of the office , a group of managers - to plan a strategy for the further development of the company in a coordinated manner.

The methods that the trainer uses in his practice include skillfully and competently planned and coordinated business and role-playing games, special exercises, group discussions, " brainstorm", psycho-gymnastics, etc. The trainer successfully plans a training system in any organization, not only due to experience in this area, but also based on a systematic understanding of business processes in general, the ability to quickly analyze the specifics of the business area under discussion and collect all the information necessary for the development training course.A professional trainer should be able to create an atmosphere of goodwill, optimism and mutual sympathy between participants in the classroom.After passing professional trainings, students gain new strength, inspiration, interest in certain activities, a boost of energy for the whole working week.

What trainings are most in demand today

The "fashion" for trainings in Ukraine has passed, giving way to sober calculation. Today, the client does not need a universal package of tools, but an individual approach that takes into account the specifics of his business as much as possible. The effectiveness of the training and the entire training program directly depends on the degree of their development for a particular student. All the efforts of specialists of training companies are aimed at the result that the client receives at the end of the training, and not at the sale of "products" - trainings and seminars. When creating a training program, the specifics of the enterprise's activities and the composition of participants are taken into account, especially if the training is aimed at managers top management. At this level, mistakes are not allowed, which means that the learning process must be carefully planned together with the customer.

An exclusive training is more expensive than a standard one, since it takes more time to prepare it - the development is carried out in several stages. The client, as a rule, is ready for such expenses, because he understands that in this way he will increase the effectiveness of the learning process.

Specialists distinguish three types of training

Communication trainings are aimed at developing individual business qualities, namely: the ability to negotiate, manage conflict, plan your own time, set priorities correctly, etc.

Personal growth trainings help to establish effective communication and goal setting. development of memory and attention, leadership qualities etc. In the process of training, the coaches intensively "poking around" in your past, bringing out all the complexes, after which you try to overcome them with joint efforts.

Specialized and industry-specific (marketing, management, logistics, etc.) trainings are designed for specialists in a particular field. Industry-specific training programs are especially in demand by sales enterprises, as well as managers of various levels. This group also includes trainings on personnel management, financial and regulatory management, business processes, marketing, advertising and PR technologies, sales and administrative logistics.

Recently, the demand for professional, so-called "skill" training has increased significantly. First, enterprises are in need of highly qualified personnel. Secondly, the market, business conditions and working methods are changing rapidly. And thirdly, the effectiveness of such activities is much easier to evaluate.

Trainings for personal growth are constantly popular, but there are not enough specialists capable of conducting trainings of an "abstract nature" at a high level. In addition, many participants may not always be able to determine how useful the sessions were for them.

Today, companies are paying more and more attention to training line managers, conducting trainings for them aimed at improving management skills (situational leadership, time management, conflict management, public speaking skills).

As for the form of conducting trainings, the number of corporate events. However, despite this, there is reason to believe that in the future open form classes will prevail.

Why coaching sometimes fails

The inefficiency of the training can be caused by the following reasons: erroneous definition of the needs of the customer, incorrectly selected group composition, lack of "feedback" and post-training support, poor organization of the presentation of the material, weak presentation skills of the teacher. One of the most common reasons for the ineffectiveness of training is the attitude to it as a punishment. Such a stereotype is formed under the influence of many nuances: the management chose the time and place of training inconvenient for the company's employees, the message about the training was made in the form of an order, etc.

Often misunderstandings arise from a superficial understanding of the meaning of the word "training" by company management. Training is not a magical act, but intensive training aimed at developing non-specific for specific profession business and psychological qualities. The training is organized by the company in order to increase labor efficiency.

When organizing corporate training, you need to take into account all the subtleties. Sometimes the age difference between trainer and trainees can make it difficult to establish personal contact between them, especially if the trainer is younger. Finally, a lot depends on the class schedule. For example, a training scheduled for Saturday morning is unlikely to cause positive emotions in the audience. In this case, the talent and professionalism of the trainer will be needed to overcome the accumulated negative emotions of the audience.

How to evaluate the result of the training

It is quite difficult to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of training, but nevertheless, the knowledge gained and the skills formed can be assessed using input and output testing. The most important indicator of efficiency is the absence of fading dynamics: the longer the results of trainings and seminars are preserved, the higher the quality of training. For specialists who have been trained according to an individually developed program, this indicator, as a rule, is very high.

Depending on the tasks of training, its objective result may be a decrease in the number of conflict situations in the team, an increase in the number of satisfied customers, an increase in the company's authority, and an increase in sales. There is a structuring of the experience of employees, their motivation to work increases, the emotional climate in the team improves, the corporate culture of the company is created and strengthened. In any case, the effectiveness of the training is determined by the subsequent application of the acquired knowledge and skills in practice, in reality. Ton managers see improvements in performance, and employees who have mastered modern methods jobs may qualify for a higher wages. Thus, both managers and employees understand that both time and money were well spent.

Today, words like "training", "coach" are incredibly popular.

Any person interested in self-development should know what is training because it has long been an important part of modern life.

Do you still have prejudice against coaches and what they teach in their classes?

Or maybe the whole point is that you did not understand the essence of the issue and became victims of stereotypes?

Do you even know what training is?

It was not by chance that I started talking about stereotypes.

I have a Facebook friend.

Personally, we do not know her, but we have common real friends.

She is not a stupid woman, a former university teacher, she constantly works on herself, reads a lot, raises in her posts interesting topics, but she has some kind of pathological hatred for trainings and everything connected with them.

Almost after one Facebook post, she does not get tired of running into them, and often even when the trainings have nothing to do with the essence of the issue she raises.

More than once I wanted to intervene and ask who of them managed to offend her like that, because, as for me, only personal, and extremely unsuccessful, experience should be hidden behind such hatred.

But somehow I didn’t dare to do this, and I don’t have much time to argue on FB.

And after the next post, to which, again, a hit-and-run to the training was attached (although it was there, like a fifth wheel to the stated topic) and the question was asked “How long will these coaches, these charlatans exist?”, My other Facebook friend could not stand it and kite ran into a hater of training.

In the course of a very entertaining argument, it turned out that the lady who called the people to the barricades with such passion and called for the extermination of all coaches and personal growth trainers does not even really know what training is and has not been to any of them.

She just fell victim to stereotypes.

What is this interesting word: "training"?

"Training" is derived from English word train, which translates as how to educate or teach.

This is a kind of method or form of interactive learning, during which certain knowledge, skills and abilities are formed that help in personal and professional growth.

Since training is one of the forms of group training, it can be assumed that it has existed for a long time.

If we talk about the coach who first used this term and began to conduct classes not much different from modern ones, then it was Dale Carnegie.

He even founded a special training center in 1912.

Training is not just a lecture, it is something cooler and more interesting.

It differs from a banal lecture in that:

  • the material is not just read by the teacher to bored and yawning students, but is immediately worked out by them;
  • not only theory, but also practice is necessarily present at the lesson;
  • not only your knowledge is formed, but also your skills and abilities.

What is training and what types is it?

Narrow-minded people think that trainings are exclusively in business or psychology.

On them, they say, young charlatans brainwash people, although they do not have the appropriate knowledge and skills.

In fact, it turns out that such caveman ideas about trainings and coaches are not entirely true.

Trainings are different:

    Skill .

    That is, the whole lesson is devoted to training a particular skill.

    You can upgrade any skill you want.

    For example, sailors learn to stay on the surface of the water for long periods of time in order to survive a shipwreck.

    Businessmen or managers do not need such a skill, but almost all of them want to improve their skills.

    Psychotherapeutic, on which exactly psychological problems participants.

    Usually one session is not enough to understand the problem and solve it, it takes several hours of work with a coach.

    Socio-psychological.

    Most often devoted to the formation interpersonal relationships, human adaptation to society and other important issues.

    Such trainings are often given to children of various ages in American schools and kindergartens.

    Our educational establishments similar experience do not rush to adopt.

  1. Business - training, which is aimed at improving the knowledge, skills and abilities of people who are engaged in business, want to increase their income, etc.
  2. Mixed type, when they do a little of everything at the training.

    For this type of training to be beneficial, it is necessary that the lesson lasts a long time, for example, 6-8 hours with breaks.

Who needs training and what to expect from them?

Training is a group exercise.

Usually it is 10-15 people, but trainings can be more crowded.

Forms and tools used by the coach:

  • lecture;
  • discussion;
  • a game;
  • video viewing and analysis;
  • demonstration;
  • debate;
  • exercises, etc.

I believe that training is necessary for every person, especially if you:

  • feel insecure about yourself and your abilities;
  • unable to establish relationships with others;
  • want to increase your income and your professional skills;
  • do you have any fears?
  • suffer from bouts of aggression and often get into conflicts;
  • Do you want to develop your creative potential?
  • Strive to constantly learn something new.

Don't be afraid to work in a group.

Only in this way will you be able to understand that the difficulties you are facing are a common enough problem that you are not alone in your troubles.

Also, you can find out various ways solutions to a specific problem and hear opinions (often diametrically opposed) on a particular issue.

It is in group trainings that the truth is revealed much more often and faster than in individual sessions with a psychologist or coach.

The video below provides another explanation of what training is.

and how it differs from other types of training:

Why are people afraid to learn better what training is?

People for various reasons do not want to learn what training is and attend them, but the most common reasons are only 5:

    Yes, the same laziness that does not allow you to develop, learn something new, change yourself and your life.

    But remember that lazy people rarely become successful people.

    Greed.

    Of course, any training (whether higher education, courses, lectures, workshops or trainings) costs money.

    It is a pity to spend money on a lesson with a coach?

    And don’t you feel sorry for spending money on rags, gadgets you don’t need or regular gatherings with friends?

    Unsuccessful experience.

    Yes, not all coaches are masters of their craft, among them there are also charlatans, ignoramuses and goofs, but you can’t put an end to the training system that has been formed over the years because of one person.

    If you don’t like one trainer in one gym, then do you really stop playing sports altogether and start calling for all gyms to close?

    No, you will go to another coach.

    The same should be done in case of failure with the coach.

    Megalomania.

    I'm smart, everyone around is stupid.

    And what can fools teach me, so smart?

    Of course, nothing.

    The pitiful position of limited people.

    Fear of leaving your comfort zone, being among strangers, opening up, and most importantly, a subconscious fear of becoming successful and changing your life.

Believe me, the coach will not turn you into a zombie and will not force you to rewrite an apartment for him.

This is not some kind of sect, no matter what the victims of stereotypes think.
